My name is James Brush and I was born in 1981 in Valencia, California and have spent a good amount of my life there.

I was educated at UCSB in Physics for my undergraduate degree before going to graduate school at UCLA to study Biomedical Physics.  I was fortunate to publish a few papers there and do some amazing research.  After receiving my Masters, I left UCLA to work at a biomedical company designing user interfaces and programming databases.  My desire to learn more about design and the arts drove me to quit my job and attend Art Center College of Design to study Illustration.  I left Art Center in my senior year to attend the brand new Art and Technology Program at CalArts to get my second Masters degree- this time in Fine Arts.  Some of my work can be seen at jamesbrush.com

The Adventures of Jimmy Foxtail is my first children's book and was dreamed of when I was still in highschool.  It is a great pleasure to be able to share the story and art now in ways which were not possible back then.  I hope you enjoy it!
